CORPORATE EVENTS: 5 TRENDS TO WATCH OUT FOR
Corporate parties are not just a way of celebrating Christmas or specific occasions; they are no longer merely a tradition to be observed. Increasingly, corporate events are becoming an opportunity for sharing and participation; an informal chance to interact and strengthen relationships, and to feel like an active part of the company’s processes – but in a different, festive way.
In this article, we have compiled 5 trends which are gaining ground in the world of private corporate events. Some are more established than others, but we believe they all offer an interesting perspective on how even a corporate party can become an opportunity for growth and personal development for everyone.
PARTICIPATION
Many companies recognise how important it is to engage their staff and therefore wish to incorporate opportunities for genuine participation by staff and guests in general during the event. There are various ways of doing this: from the classic “team building” (which, in our view, should not take centre stage at a company party, but can consist of a brief interlude between dinner and dancing), to entertainment featuring a magician who engages the audience, and to the professional setting up of a “selfie” corner where guests can playfully “create” their own memories of the event.
In any case, the presenter plays a very important role and, where one is provided, can really make a difference in terms of bringing people together. As well as highlighting the key moments of the event (speeches, award ceremonies, short interviews), the presenter – working alongside other entertainment staff (such as the DJ) – will actively engage guests throughout the evening. Here at METROLOFTEVENTI, we know full well how important these aspects are: we’re partners with DJ4, our entertainment project – so you’re in good hands!

SUSTAINABILITY’
Sustainability is not an abstract concept, nor is it just for industry insiders; rather, it is increasingly an active part of companies’ operations. It is not a matter of image, but of substance: it is a new way of approaching all business processes, without exception. It is therefore important that event organisation is also guided by sustainability; everything must be managed with a view to circularity and energy saving. More and more companies want to ensure that the utmost attention is paid to reducing food waste, recycling waste and saving energy. And this applies both to the catering service and to the chosen venue. At METROLOFTEVENTI, we are powered by solar panels Greenflex.
HYBRID EVENTS
The pandemic has undoubtedly ushered in a new way of working. Video calls are now part of everyday life for a huge number of workers, and it is rare to come across seminars or conferences that do not offer an “online” option. Even when in-person conferences or meetings are held, live streaming is always provided, with varying levels of interaction from the online audience, to ensure the widest possible reach and participation.
The practice of organising a video link is also becoming increasingly common for company parties streaming, at least for the more “formal” parts of the celebration. These include the CEO’s traditional end-of-year speech, the awards ceremony, the launch of a new product, or important announcements which may relate, for example, to the company achieving a significant milestone that it decides to share with its staff during a festive event guaranteed to make an impact. In all these cases, having a live stream means you can truly reach all staff (including those at other company sites) as well as key partners. Let’s organise your hybrid event together at METROLOFTEVENTI! We work with professionals specialising in live-streamed events.
MULTICULTURALISM’
More and more companies are making culture of inclusion a cornerstone of its code of ethics. It is a serious and complex issue that must be addressed in every aspect of corporate life. Even an event such as a company party can, however, provide an opportunity to make room for different cultures, particularly when the company employs people from different geographical areas.
This can be achieved by opting for a menu that brings together different culinary traditions, or through a carefully curated music programme that features not only international music but also trends from different parts of the world. It is advisable to rely on experts in musical entertainment, who will know how to select the tracks and sounds best suited to different moments, creating a varied yet coherent sound design for the event. An example of our multicultural approach: we also specialise in Bar Mitzvah!
THE ART… OF EVENTS
One trend that is likely to grow in the future is that of organising a company party at a venue that is hosting – even if only temporarily – an exhibition of artworks. We are not referring to actual art galleries, but rather to venues for private events that make their spaces available for paintings, sculptures or photographs, often by emerging artists.
This creates an interesting synergy: artists can benefit from the events organised at the venue by showcasing their work to guests, whilst at the same time the presence of the artworks adds charm and style and lends a touch of originality, making the corporate event truly unique.
